John was raised in Covington, Louisiana where he attended St. Paul's School. In his formative years, John achieved the rank of Eagle Scout with the Boy Scouts of America. While in high school, he had the opportunity to study Spanish in Cuernavaca, Mexico, which ignited a passion for languages. John sought out this passion by majoring in International Studies, which included courses in both Spanish and Mandarin at Louisiana State University. During his time at university, he studied abroad in Spain and was a founding member of LSU Rowing. John continued his education by receiving a Masters in International Political Economy from the University of Kent in Brussels, Belgium. During this time, he received top marks on his research applying the Euro model to countries in Southeast Asia. Upon John's return home, he worked for several years in the energy field. He still felt the desire to apply his economic background towards a career and decided to focus his pursuits in finance. John has been in the finance industry for thirteen years. He began this journey with Merrill Lynch followed by Capital One as one of the top advisors in the nation. Preservation Wealth Management is now in its sixth year of business and continues to grow. John has used his knowledge and work ethic to complete several licenses and certifications including the Chartered Financial Consultant and Certified Financial Planner certifications. He pursues his financial education by attending continuing education classes and seminars, daily reading of the Wall Street Journal, discussions with industry leaders and partners, and of course addressing his clients' needs. Outside of work he can be seen attending to his family at home, at the swimming pool, attempting to lower his golf handicap, or at the Audubon Zoo. He can also be easily heard yelling, "Who Dat?!" as a Saints season ticket holder. John may even throw you something as a member of the Krewe of Endymion. His favorite thing to do to is go for walks with the love of his life... the family dog, Penny.
